“Alana has demonstrated to me over and over again that she possesses talent way beyond her years both in her songwriting and performance abilities… I cannot wait to see what her future brings as I am certain she is destined for success,” says Tim Fink, vice president of writer/publisher relations for SESAC.
That statement is easy to believe when you consider that by the time Alana Springsteen was four years old she was already a regular on stage. From the earliest opportunity Alana began to hone her vocal skills singing in church where her father, David, was the worship leader. The Springsteen home resonated with music from sun up to sun down and with just a little nurturing and encouragement from her mother, Shannon, Alana’s natural talents began to flourish.
“Can I have it? Can I have it!?!” begged Alana, then seven years old, when her GrandDad brought a beautiful classical guitar in from his garage. He gave her the instrument on the condition that she promise to learn to play it. Rest assured, Alana made good on her promise! Only three years later she was performing the National Anthem for the Chicago Cubs at historic Wrigley Field. A Nashville music executive happened to be in the crowd that night. Before she knew it Alana was working with Kristian Bush of Sugarland and even performed their smash hit song, “Baby Girl,” on stage with the band in her hometown of Virginia Beach at the age of 11.
Alana’s momentum has yet to slow down. At 12 she played her first CMA Fest in Nashville. Alana signed a publishing deal as a songwriter with Still Working Music and BMG at only 14 years old and she has been writing with the best in the business ever since. In 2015 she became the youngest songwriter to perform at Tin Pan South Music Festival since its inception. By the end of 2016 she had been featured in Radio Disney’s song and video for “The Human Race” alongside Kelsea Ballerini, Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, and more.
“I have been blessed… Songwriting gives me an outlet to express myself and I love it!”
